At Stag Leap Running Co., our events are more than just races—they’re a celebration of community, adventure, and the wild trails we love. From challenging ultra-distance runs to fun, social trail meet-ups, each event is designed to bring runners of all levels together to share the stoke, push their limits, and experience the beauty of the mountains.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best, discovering trail running for the first time, or simply here for the camaraderie and post-run vibes, our events are all about connection—both with nature and each other. Fernie High Roller 2025
Event Description
The Fernie High Roller is a poker run style epic day on the trails taking you around some of the best peaks in town. Make it as challenging as you like with 3 route options; The High Roller, The Low Roller and Mini Roller (kids ride).
How It Works
When you sign in you will receive a punch card with the trails listed in each route on it. At the top of each trail there will be hole punch (with a unique shape – so no cheating!) to punch your card with. The more trails you check off, the more playing cards you will earn for your poker hand. When participants return to the Fernie Nordic Society you will trade in your punch card for playing cards and have a chance at the playing the best poker hand to win prizes!
Location: Start and Finish at the Fernie Nordic Society Hut.
Time: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Entry Fee: $45 – Registration includes entry, T-Shirt, post-race meal & beverage. All profits go to the trails. Must register before Sept. 9 to guarantee your T-shirt size.

As fun or fast as you like, with no pressure, all are welcome to the time trial race hosted by the Fernie Trails Alliance and Stag Leap Running Co. Apres to follow! On race weeks, this event will replace the regularly scheduled run.
Please note, that you must have your 2025 FTA Trails Pass, complete the 2025 Event Waiver and be a 2025 Stag Leap Member.
COST: $5/race or $15 for the season

6th Annual Summer Solstice Ride for Mental Health
Welcome to the 2025 6th Annual Summer Solstice Ride for Mental Health! Join us on Sat August 16th, 2025 at the Fernie Aquatic Centre for a fun and meaningful event. Stag Leap will be hosting the sunset run/walk to the Montane Hut. See link for full agenda!
Let's come together to raise awareness and support for mental health while enjoying a scenic trot in the evening light. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a new adventure, this event is open to all levels/speeds.

NEW for 2025 - the Headwall Hustle 15km Running Race
Stag Leap Running is under new management and will feature a brand new event on the Fernie race calendar - the Headwall Hustle. This 15km race is sure to challenge the best runners, taking in the incredible alpine trails at Fernie Alpine Resort.
